LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENTS OF SEVERAL BIOMASS POWER PLANTS

Within the framework of the technical support contract that IK INGENIERÍA has with ACCIONA ENERGÍA, life cycle assessments have been carried out for several biomass plants, both for thermal generation from cereal straw (wheat, oats, barley, corn...) and for generation from mixed biomass (herbaceous and woody).
These studies have analyzed the characteristics of biomass, simulated the environmental impact generated by obtaining 1 kwh of electricity with each of the technologies and compared these in different yield scenarios, origins and types of biomass. The plants on which the studies have focused have been:
- Biomass plant in Sangüesa (Navarra).
- Biomass plant in Miajadas. (Extremadura).
- Biomass plant in Logrosan (Extremadura).
